Bad Tastes

Uh oh are two very small words that can convey a huge amount of dissatisfaction.  They are the warning sirens going off in our heads when we encounter bad customer care, no responsibility or respect and the prospect of a wonderful dream of an experience turning into a nightmare.

This page aims to give constructive, rather than destructive, criticism ~ despite the bad taste left in our mouths!

A lot of the bad taste in this industry is the old boys network and the cronyism that happens. And I don’t like this because of the damage it does, the wrong decisions taken and the total lack of care and compassion for different countries and their peoples. I love meeting new people, it’s a privilege, but sometimes you can tell that person is not genuine, that the motives are grandiloquent and ego-centric. I am an observer in all this and, honestly, I find it hard to have respect for these people. Or for the travel organisations who spout and pontificate but, sadly achieve nothing of real substance nor do they add anything of real value, but they are good at patting each other on the back.

The people with passion and integrity, who genuinely care about countries, about the land, about the people – they are who I want to keep company with.
